The GenZ people have a saying of touch grass and it’s interesting to me how something so simple can actually have such incredible meaning

The idea of touching grass is that you need to reconnect with the ground with reality and in a digital world it’s pretty profound because it’s really easy to isolate yourself, use social media and not really interact with people beyond the screen

Other than people that you work with or family members that you live with is very easy to just go through the motions of the life and be in this weird zombie-space where you just operate on auto pilot and then you fill your minutes and moments with scrolling

And this is where I think that you have to touch grass and disconnect from the Internet- that you need to like leave technology behind and truly be present with people, with craft, art, science, physical hobbies that connect you with reality or you risk becoming really disconnected from reality

It’s this weird inverse relationship where if you don’t disconnect from tech and Internet, you become disconnected from the reality

It’s almost like you can lose yourself into the Internet if you’re not careful

I think entire lives could be wasted
